Title: Is there an easy way to convert a distance swam to a distance run? Post by: trying for a tri on May 29, 2007, 06:10:09 AM I.e., swimming 1500m is like running what? I'm somewhat new to swimming, but I am a longtime runner. I am exhausted after my swim workouts, so I'd like to have an idea of what a comparable run would have been just so I know where I am. So, for example, if I swam 1500m today, was that equivalent to doing a 3 mi run, a 6 mi run? Any help on determining equivalent distances run would be welcomed!

Post by: Liz on May 31, 2007, 11:10:10 PM Figure out how many calories you burn during that 1500m swim (try using a calorie chart - find it on the web) and then estimate the distance you need to run to burn the same amount.
